Aladdin Bioinformatics is a platform project launched and supported by the Aladdin Bioinformatics Foundation, enabling researchers of all coding skill levels to easily take advantage of community-contributed bioinformatic data analysis pipelines and share the results with others. It also aims to facilitate bioinformatics researchers to collaborate and contribute to make bioinformatics more accessible and democratic for everyone.
Governance
Aladdin Bioinformatics will be governed by its Scientific Advisory Board. The Board makes important decisions regarding the overall direction of the project. Under the leadership of the Board, there are various scientific committees that determine developmental directions of various research topics. The committees also review and approve new bioinformatics pipelines and updates of the existing ones. The current committees are:
Transcriptomics committee
Epigenetics committee
Microbiomics committee
Genomics committee
We are actively recruiting leaders in bioinformatics and its various fields to join our governing board and committees. Please consider joining us to further the cause of “Make bioinformatics simple”.
Aladdin Bioinformatics is open to all users. You can find a detailed Terms of Use outlining the requirements for user behavior, data security, and data ownership. We are a community-contributed project backed by a non-profit organization. Making money will never be our concern. However, analyzing and storing large biological sequence data do incur costs. To make this project sustainable long-term, we will ask users to cover certain basic costs. Institutional and commercial users may have different payment models. Please contact us for more details.
Developer Policy
The Aladdin Bioinformatics platform can only be successful with the contribution of the scientific community. We welcome contributions of all kinds, whether it's educational content, a completely new pipeline, or a small update of an existing one. The contributor receives full credit. However, to ensure quality, all submissions to public pipelines may be subject to peer-review. Please find a detailed developer policy here. You can also volunteer to serve on our committee(s) or be a reviewer for our peer-review process. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Acknowledgement
Aladdin Bioinformatics platform wouldn't exist without the participation and contribution of scientists and partner institutions. We thank the following institutions for their enthusiastic participation and kind contribution.
